Veterinarians without Borders held the workshop on researchable issues in Ecosystem Approaches to Health Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in Southeast Asia in Bali, Indonesia on 27-29 October 2010.
Participants to the workshop included representatives of governmental agencies, research institutes, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other international organizations from Canada, Holland, Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
The workshop was held with the aim of research on Ecohealth relating Emerging Infectious Diseases_EIDS in countries of Southeast Asia. The representatives reported on research relating Ecohealth such as diseases transmitted by animals (rabies, A/H1N1, fascioliasis, etc.)
The diseases related to climate change in general and Southeast Asia area in particular, the epidemic, nutritional programmes, malaria, dengue fever, etc. Especially, the Indonesian representatives had the reports on rabies and keeping dogs in their country. Besides, the representatives were divided into small groups to discuss the problems.

The achieved results:
- To have comprehensive understanding of demand and problems in research on Ecosystem to health.
- To identify the current methodology and the way of solution to evaluate the impact of Ecosystem to Health.
- To enhance the understanding of available methods and the evaluation of research in Ecosystem Approaches to Health.
- To develop the action programme to integrate ecosystem approaches to research, policy and developed strategy.
