Measures for active malaria control in Binh Thuan in last months 2011
The provincial malaria control center has maintained the focus on effective anti-malarial direction, strengthened protective measures for those at high risk of malaria (forest goers, children, pregnant women). Strengthening early detection and treatment of malaria patients right at grassroots level (villages and hamlets), residual insecticide spraying and bed-net impregnation for areas at risk. Enhancing epidemiological surveillance at hot spots and areas with large number of malaria patients, appointing specialized staff to severely-hit areas to collect and analyze malaria information, thereby early predicting malaria situation and directing the implementation of malaria control measures; focusing on the areas having no malaria patients for many years but malaria vectors, because malaria patients from elsewhere can cause malaria increase and risk of malaria recurrence in these areas if they come there.
Regularly reporting to the Institute the provicial malaria situation in key areas, including epidemiological surveillance data to receive timely support and direction.
