On 31 March 2011, at the National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE), the Management Unit of Vietnam Global Fund (VGF) Malaria Control Project held an official car handover ceremony with the attendance of six provincial-level units just participating the Project round 7 (2009-2013) and two central-level units not receiving cars yet in the Project round 3 (2005-2008).
Participants to the official car ceremony included the directors-also heads of VGF project management units (PMU) of three institutes of malariology, parasitology and entomology, director of the Central VGF Malaria Control Project and staff of project management office, representatives of the provincial health departments and six project's units of Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Thua Thien-Hue, Tay Ninh and Bac Lieu, etc.
The cars received by the project participating units are of Ford Everest Xlt 2.61 Petrol 4 ´ 4 UF6DLAA 2.6 P, quite new, silver, 7-seater, 5-door, manufactered in Thailand. The central PMU also handed over all accompanied accessories, temporary licence-plates and necessary papers to facilitate the project's units in complying with car registration formalities at localities.
The project's units receiving cars included:

3)  !important; The PMU of the provincial malaria control centre of Nghe An;
4)  !important; The PMU of the provincial malaria control centre of Thua Thien-Hue;
5)  !important; The PMU of the provincial malaria control centre of Tay Ninh;
6)  !important; The PMU of the provincial centre for prevetive medicine of Bac Lieu;
7)  !important; The PMU of the Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology-Ho Chi Minh City (IMPE-Ho Chi Minh);
8)  !important; The PMU of the National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology (NIMPE).

Handing the car keys over to the units' representatives, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, director of NIMPE, also of the Central VGF Malaria Control Project hoped that these cars would be used effectively in accordance with their purpose, actively contributing in the implemetation of the objectives of the project round 7 (2009-2013) - "Strenghthen community-based malaria control concentrated on populations at high risk of malaria and enhance the capacity and stability of the National Malaria Control Programme".
